Survey before quote. Always.
A number produced from a room count and a video call is a guess dressed as a price. We look at the building, both ends where we can, and quote the job that exists rather than the job that is convenient to sell.
About
We do one route. Britain to France back to Britain — and we plan every job around the property rather than the distance.
Because the corridor rewards knowing it. A firm that moves to eleven countries knows roughly what a French village street is like. A firm that only moves to France knows that the street needs a stationnement authorisation from that particular mairie, that the arch into the courtyard narrows as it rises, and that the barn holds twice what the owner remembers.
That knowledge is not glamorous and it is not marketable in a headline. It is simply the difference between a day that runs and a day that does not.
Most firms working this corridor are built to go one way. They are set up for the outbound dream — the retirement to the Dordogne, the family move to the Languedoc — and the return trip is something they will do if the vehicle happens to be there.
We think that is backwards. Coming home is the harder move: a clearance, a local sale and a shipment running at once, under a completion date set by a French notaire and a British solicitor who have never spoken. It needs more planning, not less. So we scope it as three jobs from the start, and we say out loud which French furniture is worth the journey.
We are not the cheapest quote you will get, because the cheapest quote is usually the one that has not looked at the lane. We do not publish a price list, because a full house into a ground-floor longère with a gravel turning circle and a full house into a fourth-floor village property are not the same job at any volume.
And we do not claim awards, memberships or press coverage we have not earned. What we will tell you about is the survey, the plan and the cover — in writing, before you commit to anything.
How we work
A number produced from a room count and a video call is a guess dressed as a price. We look at the building, both ends where we can, and quote the job that exists rather than the job that is convenient to sell.
Half our work runs France to Britain. It is the harder direction and the one most firms are not set up for, and we built the business around doing it properly rather than treating it as a backhaul.
If the armoire will not stand up in the new house, you should hear it before it is packed. Saying so costs us volume on the load and saves you paying twice. That trade is not close.
We do not publish transit times we cannot guarantee or prices that ignore the access. Your written quote sets out the expected window for your move, and we tell you what would change it.
Which property, which direction, and what is in the outbuildings. That is enough for us to tell you how we would run it.
